Photoshoot for Five, Anna Pepper

With our Photoshoot for Five project, my idea was to get some creatives together, and not just any creatives, but some of the ladies I admire most, because of their superb- and very high quality of work. These ladies are masters within their own genres, and to meet them as friends, knowing we all have different styles, different things we’re good add, and it made for a mutual respect between us all – it was an amazing photoshoot. I ask each of the girls, a couple of things, just to find out how they feel about the industry, and even some tips, and adding Anna Pepper, here are her answers. Enjoy.

* Do you believe in doing more than one thing to survive in the industry….

I would like to say “no” – but I think that  it is unfortunately only possible once you have been in the industry for some time and have made a name for yourself. I am fortunate  to have a makeup and hairstyling background , which works nicely with my photography business. But ultimately I would like to only focus on my photography.

* What is the best marketing strategy for your business…

Word of mouth – and of course , Instagram. Definitely the way to go.

* How….can we make the industry better….by doing what, or incorporating what, or changing what….

I do find that a lot of photographers are very “territorial ” – and don’t appreciate a newbie coming on the scene. Thankfully this is in the minority , but still something we can look at. Rather support your fellow creatives. Another thing I wish I could change is the way the  that people take advantage of us creatives, by doing shoots for free  – for  “exposure”.

At the end of the day , it is our bread and butter , although it is also our passion. We need to educate our clients as an industry.

* What is the worst part about the industry…
I think our industry is so small – and we already are a tight knit group , but we can do more to support one another.  Maybe have more meetups and get the younger generation of photographers in, to help them get to know the oldies so we can be there to support them .

* What do you shoot with, camera-wise? And do you ever use any other lighting setup than natural light?

I shoot with a Canon 5D mk 2 – my go to lens is my 50mm 1.2 – mostly natural light if I can help it. 🙂

Anna is more beautiful than even she thinks, and she made for stunning, soft photos, with a depper sense of beauty. It’s a privilege to know her. I would lov to do a Photoshoot with just her….:)
