Photographers shooting photographers – five greats

Working with the greats…..is nothing short of humbling. I’ve had this dream to bring great creatives together, and even though it hasn’t started with this shoot but already long before, this shoot made me see many things through the eyes of wonderful women, all professional photographers, also working hard to become masters in their field, all different, and all, big surprises to my soul – in the best way possible.

This was a shoot with Ingrid Alice, Laura Jane, Anna Pepper, Ilse Moore, and myself, Yolandi Jacobsz. Female professional photographers.

Ingrid is deep and soulful and makes for amazingly long chats, she has pure emotions, and just a super talents for the fashion. She has done work for a great few publications and maybe she is the sister I should have.

Laura is just the purest beauty, and when she laughs her eyes crinkle and twinkle. Together with her husband they shoot the most amazing wedding, both nationally- and internationally, and is a strong award-winning team.

Anna has more beauty than she’ll ever realize. When she smiles, something magical happens. Having a very unique style, both modern but romantic, her profile- and fashion shoots are amazingly wonderful, and visually so interesting to look at.

Ilse….makes me gasp, mostly because of her humble way, and then her explosive talent. Which is just magical, and has been featured all over the world.

I wanted to get us photographers together, and a shoot for US. For girls, in this field, just passing by, being great. They are, my friends, and we now all support each other’s work and ventures. This shoot was emotional for me, and maybe I expected a truckload of myself, which isn’t new for me.

Our hair was done by both Anna Pepper, from Refinery, and Élia Luisa Lopes, and I just felt a word more than beautiful that day. Anna also helped with makeup, as well as the amazingly good rock of a woman and make-up artist, Maureen Grobler.

This dream team, made the day, something spectacular, and I drove home, tired, knowing I would get more greats together again for a shoot.
