Jenna Benater was quite a surprise with her profile photography shoot. You sometimes find kindness in small packages, and even with her not being too tall at all, she is a dear, lovely lady and we enjoyed our shoot with her so much. Jenna is a yoga instructor and wanted to do a shoot with Maree when he last visited Johannesburg, as Mardee is known for his outstanding fashion-, fitness and profile work, both with signed models and anyone interested.
Jenna will tell you how shy she was, and perhaps so yes – but she did manage to bring her muchness for some lovely images. The house we shot at has a pool made to look like a beach, with a stretch of sand around it and a big area that feels open and free. We were able to use the pool plus it’s unique sandy area, as where we shot, had a feel for a place somewhere maybe close to a Mozambican beach…
Mardee’s still’s are amazing, we used the Profoto B1 lights for her profile photography, which made for beautiful, and Jenna’s light hair gave a great casual look, as it hung down her shoulders.
The video capabilities of some camera have been around for a while, but I’m new at trying this and wanted to play around while Mardee shot with Jenna. It provided with such a great look, that I tried to get some clips of where we were and show of Jenna’s lovely body, and her shy but pretty nature.
The X-T2 became what I wanted from a camera, and it has more features than what I even actually needed, and now ended up using. We love the video feature. Videos are alive, and more filled with what happened on the day, much more of a story can be told with it, and it moves….which sounds obvious bit it’s what gives it such magic.
