The Loci Studio, is for everyone – and I am happy and privileged to welcome anyone wanting a good set of images of themselves, taken by a professional. This stunning lady climbed on a bus early in the morning all the way from Mpumalanga, to visit my studio, just to head back in the afternoon, back to family.
I am never more aware of what an impact your work, your product, who you are and what you deliver – your presence, can be to people you never even have met or know, can have. Clients have come as far to the Pretoria based Loci Photography studio, as Middelburg, Rustenburg, Klerksdorp, Witbank, Vereeniging, Heilbron….and Mpumalanga it seems too. I try and have as much fun as possible with each client, but for this reason I do take my job a smidge seriously as well, because of people who do the effort to come through for me.
When you’re an aspiring model, the very first thing to have done, is a professionally shot portfolio, or test shoot. That helps you tremendously in getting a feel of the relationship between the photographer and model, how posing works, how your body and mannerisms react to guidance- and help, and how you are portrayed by the camera – which is your best friend and who doesn’t hide anything. I do pride myself in being good at posing, in helping clients to find the best- and most flattering facial expressions and body-poses for their set of images, as each person is also different and will take to the process differently.
I really enjoyed her fresh, young and vibrant energy, and I was reminded of how blessed I am, and I felt grateful. Her shoot was done in my typical darker- and moodier style, and we did both more serious expressions with her, as well as used her lovely smile in some images as well.
