Matric Dance Photography in Pretoria East

Matric Dance Photography in Pretoria East

The year was 2020, and certainly the utmost interesting year to logistically keep track of your bookings as fun shoots such as matric dances were cancelled at a whim, just to be phoned by the same clients shortly thereafter, saying the school is able to hold the function again, under some regulations.

This wonderful couple was calm and collected, and she looked like a stunning young woman ready to leave school and go do other cool stuff as I got to take pictures of her in that moment, right before a new phase of her life was to start.

This stunning venue in the East of Pretoria worked beautifully with the light that came through romantically through the trees as the sun started to sit lower and gave us a spectacular scheme of different yellows and oranges.

Who knows what 2021 will bring, perhaps we get more Covid 19 waves – I guess that is where we pivot together with all of it. These shoots remind me of the beauty of being together, enjoying laughs and good times together, how we sometimes take for granted that events are not’ always guaranteed, and how when we have a moment to enjoy beauty – do it in style. (Just to mention as disclaimer, it’s 2023 – and it’s now an awesome time to go through blogs not posted yet and copy and wonderful previous work I still have to show)

She truly looked lovely in her simple but very elegant dress, and I had a blast with these two, as they had a great energy together before their evening was to start. The sun gave us spectacular colors and made for an amazing set of images as it wrapped its rays around them. Matric Dance Photography in Pretoria East, with a magical sunset and a hustle to not be late.

I truly hope the 2021 matric dance season is what it should be – fun, exciting, something to look forward to, so hopefully these lovely young people get to enjoy their shoots and their events happily.

I wouldn’t be anywhere I am without my trusting camera brand, Fujifilm, and my camera strap from Peak Design, and camera bag from Manfrotto, without which I wouldn’t function well and goes everywhere with me. I also love my location Elinchrom smaller studio kit, it’s powerful even though small, and always gives that extra magic to some of my portraits.
