Doing Pin-Up Shoots will always be a favourite for people to do. There is something about the style and dress sense of the 50’s and 60’s we still love, and the Pin-Up girls were favourites among everyone.
It seems like the vintage feel of victory rolls in hair, short shorts, high platforms, red lipstick, and a fun carefree attitude have a way of making for good photography, and the nostalgia in them is a great flashback to an amazing time. I love doing them! What a fun shoot it always is. There is no limit to what you can do, and these girls were amazing at it, one wouldn’t think they live a modern life at all. It is as if theyr stepped out of time.
These girls, are all smart medical students, both pretty and very intelligent, and one of them decided for her 21st birthday, she wants a pin-up shoot with her and a few friends. They chose to shoot at a place called Jan Hamsgat Gastehys, in Cullinan, Pretoria, and the great vintage feel of the guesthouse made for a great location for their themed shoot.
To have pin-up shoots done, whether alone by yourself, or in a group with friends, is a wonderful keepsake, as it is different to what we currently know, and shoot nowadays, and will always be a fun time for you to look back on. It’s a chance to play with so great old-fashioned hairdos and clothes and accessories.
