When the Fujifilm X-T2 started causing a buzz, we knew it would shake up many things. Where the X-T1 lacked some important features – every single thing was upgraded, updated and looked at when the X-T2 was developed to make not only a much more user-friendly machine, but to take any Fuji user’s photography to a next level, and to be right on par with many of the other big brands as well.
I am always busy with some conceptual- and creative project in my mind. Some of them don’t even realize and just live in my head, others I make happen.
I really wanted to test the dynamic range of the Fujifilm X-T2’s capability, and made a setup that would bring something else out of the shoot, show something different, and have it be a little tricky, because where would the challenge in it be then….
My idea was to have everything black, from my model’s hair, to her clothing, to all accessories, as well as it having a pretty aspect, true to my usual style.
Jess Enslin was amazing at this, and being naturally dark-haired, we paired her with all materials, fabrics and ribbons – all in black.
I wanted to still show how there would be detail in every element, and how the camera would still obtain its quality in every dark thing I presented. We shot with different lenses even, from wide to zoom, and were able to capture something still of a fashion nature, but with a hidden goal of actually showing how the Fujifilm X-T2 can handle black- and dark elements.
Some of the fabrics I used were tulle, many, many meters of ribbon and net.
I loved everything about this shoot, and I’ll say it again – Jess rocked it so well.
Make-up was done by Mikhara Ford. Styling by me..
