I love working in Johannesburg, and shooting family photos in Johannesburg, as Johannesburg city is definitely for me, the wonderful jewel I didn’t think it was. Johannesburg has a lot of opportunities, a lot of amazing little moments it gives you, there is so much to do, and I truly believe it houses some of the best people, and most friendliest I have come across.
My families are amazing, and spending time with them, makes for great connections – many of these people invite me over even when it’s not shooting time, just because we have formed bonds, and I get to interact with their children and share something around a dinner table with the parents.
Family photography should always be fun, that what it comes down to, and if we as photographers don’t try and set our clients at ease, their discomfort will show in the images.
With Loci photography providing the service of a mobile studio, I get to travel through to my client’s homes, and do their pictures either in the comfort of their own homes, or at a park, or venue nearby.
I always shoot until I’m completely satisfied, and I know there is a variety of all combinations, with mom and dad, children together and individual, and making sure the family is represented as best I can.
Even though all of this is about running a good business, it is also about a very important “person” – the client, and making sure they have a good experience in all of this and they receive a good quality product. One they will be proud of, look back at fondly, and even decide to make prints of.
Shooting family photos in Johannesburg – is not only business, it’s a fun, amazing element of what I do.
