My family photography shoots are my soulfood. I love doing them, and I love the growth that comes with the family and their children. Children grow way too fast and if we let them, suddenly they’re all big.
These two we’re a hoot and I laughed just as much as them together. This family opted for the studio to be brought through to their home in Johannesburg South, which is a service Loci Photography offers all over Gauteng. I have many clients still in Johannesburg South, Johannesburg North, the East Rand, even as far as Middelburg, Rustenburg, Klerksdorp, Vereeniging……
With children it takes nothing but patience. Get down to their level, and just…..joke around. The two boys weren’t small babies anymore, and could at least sit still and tell each other funny things to make them laugh, even though their jokes made no sense and they giggles most of it.
The family is also Indian so the mother opted for some traditional dress for some of the photos. I fully encourage all clients – be you. If you are more of a nature-loving person, or your kids wants to dress up in costumes, let them be that for that image as you’ll remember that phase rather fondly as they grow up. A family photographer does have the best intentions and also want nothing more than to give you great images of something precious and valuable to you. Children have minds of their own so we work at it to give your product value. At the heart of what we do, it is always only to satisfy clients, not about showing of our equipment or using gimmicks to try and impress people. Boys like these, and families like these are close to my heart, and I do love what I do.
