EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY IN JOHANNESBURG BY LOCI PHOTOGRAPHY
Who DOES NOT want to turn 40 with flair? This incredible woman booked me for her birthday event where she would turn 40 in style, and wanted some great images of the special people who would attend and be a part of an evening full of food, dancing, music and the scenery of Johannesburg.
The Covid pandemic of 2020 has but a bit of halt on events and get togethers, and even though completely understandable for the safety of countries, it’s so interesting to look back at these event photos and remember a time before all of changed, before a world changed in front of all of us, and how the game changed so rules changed. Being 2022, it seems to now have lifted quite a lot with so many events, festivals and get togethers back to a sense of normal.
Still, I do miss lovely intimate events like these, and I had such a blast photographing this stunning event.
The key to my business, Loci Photography, being a success for almost nine and a half years already is the dedicated way I communicate and liaise with my client before, during and after their shoots. I feel it’s good to communicate as well as you can, as to what the client expects and you’re only then able to quote well for your time when you know how long you’ll be photographing, how much time you’ll then spend on the editing of their products, and what the distance would be to travel to venues. We can’t yet do anything about changed rules and regulations and what is allowed for people to get together and still be safe, but we can cherish what we have now, and the lessons we have learnt to get here.
Maybe the year 2023 will add more positive memories to hold on to, will see some more kindness being shown to the battles everyone faces, and will help all of us appreciate our businesses, our clients and our loved ones more. Event photography in Johannesburg…..or Pretoria, or anywhere in Gauteng, is something we were all a part of in a fun way, both as clients and service providers, so being back at again is quite refreshing.
