DOING FAMILY PHOTOSHOOTS IN EDENVALE
When a shoot is this much fun, few things matter. I’ve known this couple, and family for many years already, in fact: 10 years ago I photographed their wedding, and we wonder where it went.
Now, they already have a gorgeous second baby, and their family is just glowing. This was shot one sunny afternoon at the Modderfontein Nature Reserve, where I’ve heard there are local fish eagles who make a home for themselves there.
It’s part of your job as photographer, to help and guide clients, so much so that a bond is formed, and they end up liking you so much, and appreciating the way you help them achieve a great, flattering set of images that you end up with recurring clients, people who always come back, and capture the growth of their family another time.
I have been fortunate enough to shoot all over Gauteng, my clients range from as far as Middelburg, Rustenburg, Krugerdorp, Vereeniging, Heilbron – and I feel nothing but supremely blessed for all of the different kinds of people from all over, who found me either online, or through referrals. I really do pride myself in good quality work, and I do feel it has only become better over the years I’ve served the many amazing clients who come before my lens. I connect with so many of them, and this particular family, is one of those extraordinary cases – ordinary people with extraordinary hearts.
My work is a love story to every family who comes for a family shoot, every woman who is brave enough for an amazing boudoir shoot, any aspiring model who wants to do a portfolio shoot – or any event I get to capture to only happen once, only for that moment.
