Arts on Main, in Maboneng, turned into a great hotspot for many artists, and all sorts of interesting people alike. This quirky little place in Johannesburg hosts some cool restaurants, some theatres, and markets where there are lots to do, to see, to eat and to buy at all times. A perfect spot for couple photos for these two.
This couple, wanted their engagement shoot there, before we were to shot their wedding there the following month.
Anka and Abe, who have been together for eight years already, dressed the part, and enjoyed the many different places, colours, and sports the Maboneng district offers to shoot at. Couple Photography for them, was a joy, and so much fun.
Engagement shoots offers a lot of opportunity, for especially the upcoming groom, to get to know the photographer better. A better connection is established and when the wedding comes around, it can be a whole lot of fun.
It’s good to mingle, to mix, to chat, to talk, and to engage with your couple. They are unique people, they respond and react differently, and what works for the one, might certainly not work for the next one. We do have to take on the responsibility to make them as comfortable as possible. They are not inherently models, or do this everyday, and most people, shy away from photos, especially if they are unsure about how their image might look.
You have their image in your hands, and you can make this – or break this. Couple Photography is fun medium, working woth two people already in love.
