Corporate Images on location in Johannesburg
Loci definitely knows how to take a good corporate image as well, and just like with many trusted companies, this lawyer firm has been a loyal client of Loci Photography for close to 8 years already. This year Loci is proudly 10 years old, and I have known this lovely lady and her law firm for quite some time.
Business people are busy people, but so many companies are not always aware of what it takes to take a good, and proper corporate image. These stunning ladies do property law, and are a bunch of classy, hard working business women, who wanted to upgrade the website of this successful firm. We did their shoot at their offices in Fourways in Johannesburg – something my business has prided itself on since the day I started working – the fact that I had always been able to bring the studio setup through to especially corporate clients, at their workspaces, to have their whole team photographed there.
Obviously women have a different shape to men, so posing them is a different strategy, and without over posing these ladies, some good guidance on what works for certain looks, and what doesn’t – is the dedicated responsibility of the photographer. You have to be able to communicate to your client on what could work best for them, as some people are shorter than others, and some are just more tentative than others who are more comfortable smiling or outgoing in front of cameras. Companies always need good images, and I cringe when I hear business people comment on how they were not advised well on how to stand or how to pose their hips and that they then, have to unfortunately be happy with an awkward image taken of them, used then in email footers or profiles or reports, and they can’t fix it. Sometimes it’s a quick shoot, as again – people are busy, but it still needs the proper communication between photographer and client in front of you, to make sure it’s a product they like, and quite frankly deserve. My work will never be of the quality it is if not for my support gear. I love my Fujifilm XH2, and when on location I have gorgeous Elinchrom strobe lights that create a soft and flattering look. All of my stuff just fits so well in my Manfrotto bag, and I never go anywhere without my camera straps from Peak Design.
