My boudoir photography journey, is my most favorite one, because I get to work with women, which I love as they are magical creatures, I get to be creative unlike any other shoot, and I get to work with the pretty – all the best lines of a lady, and some of the most beautiful pieces of underwear I have ever seen.
This stunning shoot was done at a beautiful guest house in Heidelberg with stunning light, and an open, airy feel, and even though shy, I think this bride-to-be rocked it pretty well.
My goal with boudoir shoots is to always have it done quite naturally, with natural, soft light, and almost a dreamy effect.
The aim is to have the subject be a part of her environment, as if the area around her molds to her, and she is as comfortable as can be.
Getting creative is what I like to do best, so I am always on the lookout for how to make the shoot different – shooting through things, definitely making use of the environment smartly, looking for reflections or interesting shadows – I feel it adds to the success of a shoot just so much more.
Making someone comfortable is key. The camera is your closest friend, and will give in true form, what is in front of it – if someone feels uncomfortable or uneasy about her pose somehow, it’ll show, and it’s up to the photographer to be sure to look well from their side, at the picture in front of them, and see if all elements works, and if the client feels flattered and is posed well.
Boudoir photography is gift I feel, a new trend we’ve only delved in recently, and it’s a privilege to have this shoot with any tentative woman just wanting great pics of herself, and putting her image in your hands. Booking a boudoir shoot with Loci gives you a superbly high quality product, and stunning photographs, done to perfection.
