This stunning young mommy one day phoned, said: “I’ve just had a baby! But let’s do this!” Which is why I like boudoir photography so very much. Doing boudoir shoots in Johannesburg, is amazing – the people are very friendly, in spite of what anyone might say, and the Johannesburg people have a need for good quality.
Clients so dear to my heart. The boudoir shoot, I still claim is for everyone, and anyone, at any point in their life. Perhaps we never feel it to be .the right time, or that we’re the right weight, and a smart photographer, is able to take your best features, and use that to your advantage. We all might have something we’re not too comfortable with, and always – listen to your client, hear them out, and work with both of their insecurities as well as their strong points…
This was one hot mommy. She reminded me a bit of Taraji P. Henson, of the series Empire. She’s tough, but has a great sense of humor. Her shoot’s feel was very much smoky, en lavish, with some gold tones, and the shimmer on her skin. Boudoir shoots in Johannesburg – for amazing women, those go-getter types which I love.
With the type of boudoir work I get to do, I get to shoot people at their venue of choice, which does bring unique elements, to each shoot, even if I have a specific style. What might work for the one, might not work for the rest, and when you get to your shooting location, weigh up all of it – your client and the pieces she brought to shoot in, the surroundings and what light, if some poses plainly won’t work because height, weight, skin tones, even different hair- all makes for a difference in feel and look. Work the best way, with your client at hand, bring out her best features, motivate her – and guide her well. Mission accomplished.
