Boudoir photography on location, Johannesburg

It is always going to be a battle to not see women as sexual objects, but as the amazing, meaningful, worthy glistening creatures that they are. The boudoir photography I do, is always with the mission to empower the woman in front of my camera, and to make her feel like she is on top of the world.

As many people might think an underwear shoot has a sexual connotation to it, and that it’s meaning is for an obscure purpose, note that these shoots, actually are for private viewing, and the women I portray here, were brave enough to let me show their beautiful s, brave souls.

I wanted to start writing more in-depth about this wonderful shoot, a genre I love to do, because I am still in awe at what happened at my last boudoir shoot, the very first for this year, and one of my favorites, because the results came out so amazingly. The lovely young woman I had gotten to photograph, had such a sweet demeanor about her, and when I get to fix suspenders and make sure straps and hair are in the right place, I get to work up-close with my ladies.

In my eyes, her shape, her lovely skin tone and her build was close to perfection. She herself was quite shy, and said she doesn’t feel as stunning as I make her out to be, because she had had a previous boyfriend call her fat, even weighing less than what she is weiging currently. I immediately felt very connected to her, and it’s amazing how every time you had heard the words that you are not perfect, not the right size or type, or even just slightly larger than someone else, seems to pop up in your mind right there and then.

She is lovely, and is getting married soon to a wonderful guy, who puts no pressure on her and makes her feel amazing, with as little drama in their relationship as possible. Her story, even though a simple one, grabbed me, because I thought she was breathtaking.

It’s a dream of mine to one day perhaps travel with my boudoir photography, showing each and every woman who would brave their own boudoir moments, that they are in fact beautiful. Whether they are larger, or whether they have had children, it does not matter – your womanly muchness will ALWAYS be a part of you, it’s my dream just to show you the extend of that miraculous beauty.
