I’ve decided that this year will be mostly spent super proud about all of Loci’s experiences and achievements, as it is in its tenth year of business – made it through the beginning, made it to year number five….then seven, then Covid, then suddenly – being ten year old and still providing clients with an enormously high quality product, just more so, backed with experience, great editing, the time taken to really make your product a high quality one – from taking it to processing it…..and all of the small yippee’s in between. I’ve loved it all.
Through the years you get to become more focused on the niche that has steered you the most, has brought you the most passion and has made you the happiest – and that has been boudoir. I am in love with boudoir. The boudoir client is a completely different client, their energy, and reason for doing their shoot is different to anyone else’s. BUT…there are many boudoir photographers out there, so what makes clients end up choosing Loci Photography? I do personally think it’s because of a deep-rooted passion for this sensual genre that must shine through in all images of my work posted anywhere. It’s a precision to provide something to my clients they won’t get anywhere else in the country.
Loci’s location has now changed, and it’s a whole new chapter for the business as I get to meet new clients from different areas. Now being located in Rietvallei Park, and serving Pretoria East, Centurion, Irene, Midrand, the East Rand areas like Kempton Park and Boksburg, and still being close enough for other Pretoria clients, as well as Johannesburg clients. This boudoir experience is such a feminine, sensual shoot, a memorable moment for any- and every woman. I have to proudly give a last footnote quickly – Loci’s exclusive studio couture range is to die for. The reason why so many boudoirs recently are just out of this world is because of a handmade, self-designed range by me, that has added to the life and sparkle of the studio’s images, and it photographs like a dream. Lovely jackets, coats and other accessories like gowns and gloves made for a luxurious experience full of fashionable glamor and your images being different, and you feeling like such a diva. The Nicolassi Rental Range
After so many years of photography, I just know what type of gear works for me, and I have to mention my awesome camera brand Fujifilm – I am in love with my XH2, my Elincrom lighting setup that served me so well over so many years – and recently I’m using the constant lighting setup of a brand called Apurture, the amazing team at Singer Photographic, who always supports my work and have made my journey easier through great gear such as my Colorama backgrounds, and my Manfrotto bag which I take everywhere.
A mention to the team at Outdoorphoto as well, things like fast and reliable memory cards and sturdy light stands do not go unnoticed.
I’ve starting sewing on my mother’s old Elna sewing machine when I was younger, and I still have my machines, but recently I have upgraded to an incredible Kingstar walking foot machine, which is a proud moment.
