BESPOKE BOUDOIR CLOTHING RANGE
One of the biggest goals with The Nicolassi Brand’s bespoke, handmade clothing range, is the fact that any- and every woman who visits the studio needs to feel they can look great in the garments, and that it fits them well. This is indeed tricky, as we all have different body shapes- and types, but with some smart manoeuvring and a bit of magic, garments can have hidden or secret additional amendments done to help with that.
Something like the popular Raglan-type sleeve, helps to fit most arm sizes where it connects to the shoulders, it is traditionally cut-out towards the neck for a triangular-shape, but not evident in such a way that it is meant for a larger arm, as the Raglan fits anyone and is now again back in fashion.
The Raglan-fit also has a way of folding into itself in the back panel the back if someone with a smaller frame were to fit the garment, and in that way is very friendly to more body-sizes.
This incredible client was funny, smart and had such great self-esteem, with a bit of fierceness which made for strong portraits. The Loci Photography studio invites anyone to come visit us in Pretoria, as we know your product will be incredible, but you do not need to be a trained model in the least, or even know exactly what you’re doing. You only need to bring yourself, and a bit of trust for a trained professional photographer, who will guide and help you for poses that suit your frame, personality and the purpose of your shoot well, so that you walk away satisfied, and know that you were serviced in a great photographic- and visual way.
The floor length Venetian lace coat handmade by myself, Yolandi Jacobsz – the owner of Loci Photography, already a brand existing for 9 years, is by far one of the most elaborate garments ever made, as most of it was hand sewn, and its pieces was bought from all over, from fabric stores in Pretoria, Lenasia, Johannesburg and the East Rand. It has gorgeous loose black fringe in some areas that gently move as you move your arms, and creates a hugging gown around you that has small pieces of skin peeping through. Its weight makes you feel like a queen, and the shorter fringe epaulets create a strong shoulder line that wraps you in power and a bit of strength. It again has all of the photographic- and visual elements that makes for a successful photograph; fringe, texture, shadow-play, strong lines, and a hint of drama.
