I don’t always get the chance to shoot with signed models, as model photography isn’t my genre really, and I have never marketed myself as an agency or- fashion photographer. So I get the chance very rarely, and this shoot with the wonderful model Sacha Rose Cramer, only happened because of a booking she had with fashion photographer Mardee Maree, and I was able to go along.
When you work with someone who knows what they’re doing, it makes for a fulfilled day in another way. For me, it’s always a great journey to try and have any- and every person wanting a good shoot, feel comfortable even if they are not models, and even if they need your help fully to make them look good.
So it’s just another experience, of a different kind when you work with a model that listens to the shutter of the camera, and moves her body, her posture, her looks, and even her expression by that click only.
Working together like that is a whole new magic on its own. You get to see how someone understand light mixed with body movement, and even another factor they regard is what does the agency require of them….
Agencies always want the models to keep their profiles updated with new photos and they all get castings regularly where their variety wants to be seen.
Sacha is a model with Ice Models Johannesburg, a highly recommended agency. Ice works with top class models, and their models get placed in advertisements regularly.
Mardee got amazing photos of her, and for me just playing around, I am happy with the result. I got lots of moody shoots, with great shadows and tones.
