If you’re pro-photographer, and your work has ever involved and included printing, you’ve searched for a printer in your area, or have listened to any referrals of people happy with a certain service. Atphoto is Hatfield is definitely a service, a home, a business most photographers, not just myself, would refer. We did the Atphoto shoot, with the goal in mind to show the world the unity of the staff, and to purely have fun.

Karlien Murray is the owner of the lab, and not only does she get involved in all of your printing needs – she listens to any personalised requests you might have and gives you plenty of options on how the lab may be able to help you, and for the most part, they do.
A whole team of friendly, and plain good-hearted people stand behind her, and with her, and it’s a joy to go the lab, as it has a relaxed feel, and a place to view the products, to sit and chat with the staff, or other fellow-artists, or clients that want to meet with you, in a professional space where there is amazing coffee, and an open, airy feel, with a studio to use as well.
Karlien asked me personally to have a shoot done for her, as the Photo & Film Expo was coming up, our big annual event for photographers, and as a printing supplier, she was asked to give a talk, and share her views on what would be good options for us in regards to products we can supply.
I wanted to include not only her, but her whole staff, as it’s the team that makes the village, and it’s the team that is the success.
Karlien and I decided on using paint, as a fun element for the shoot, and also to have the meaning, that they all imprint on each other, they all leave a mark, and just like the paint mixed and can’t be undone, so can their working together, not be taken apart, they all need each other to make the lab a success.
It was an amazing shoot – the Atphoto shoot, it was a team-building exercise and it was tremendously special for everyone at Atphoto. It was a privilege to be a part of everyone’s joy.
Atphoto isn’t hard to find, it’s on the Gautrain line, they have couriers available, and will try their utmost best to fulfill your artistic printing needs.
